Broadmoor Bluffs Contemporary

Nestled into a flag lot in the Broadmoor Bluffs, this contemporary home was designed for an empty nester couple who wanted space to work from home, as well as to connect and enjoy their active lifestyle together. The site features incredible 360-degree views of both the mountains and the city lights, and we wanted to take full advantage of the spectacular surroundings, situating the home for optimal views from every room.

Detached exercise studio and guest cottage loft

The work and personal goals of our clients were top priorities in designing this home—she being a fitness coach and he an avid golfer and golf course developer. For her, we included a detached exercise studio with a guest cottage loft above, and for him, a study with a quiet covered patio to take in the views.

We focused on keeping the floor plan open and connected—centered around the dramatic fireplace at the heart—so they could easily spend time together and be able to work from home when they could. The original request was for a traditional lodge home, but our clients quickly became excited about a more contemporary style. We blended the best of mountain and modern design trends to create a custom home that fits this couple to a tee.

This contemporary home was featured in the Spring 2018 issue of Springs Magazine, along with an interview with Larry Gilland. Check out the interview on our blog, or click here to see additional images and read the full article by Cameron Moix, Home Design Secrets in Springs Magazine.
