Site Visit: Kissing Camels, Part 1

Seeing a custom design we’ve created with our clients take shape on-site is one of the best parts of our job. This project—a six-bedroom custom residence in Kissing Camels—has been a privilege and a pleasure to work on, and our clients have generously granted us permission to share a few construction updates as it comes together!

This is a full-service contract administration project for LGA Studios, which means that in addition to the collaborative design process we use in creating the concept and plans, we stay involved over the course of the construction of the home. This includes meeting and working jointly with the clients, contractor, and interior designer (the talented Kate Wilder) and frequently visiting the building site.

Bob McGrath Construction is handling construction beautifully on this home, which is a ranch with a partial walkout basement. They broke ground in late September and were able to pour the foundation and begin floor framing in October. As of early November, they started wall framing.

As you can see from the photos, this home will have stunning views of Pikes Peak, the Front Range, and Kissing Camels.

We look forward to continuing to follow this project throughout its construction and hope to provide a sense of what the process entails of taking a home from the drafting board and computer screen into the field.

Here’s a visualization of what this beautiful home will look like when it’s completed:
