Happy Holidays from LGA Studios! We had an office potluck this week where everyone brought some fantastic goodies and holiday specialities to share. We always love spending time with our team and being able to celebrate and be grateful for one another and for what we get to do for a living.
We also enjoyed building a gingerbread house as a group project! We had the kits for four traditional gingerbread houses, but that plan was immediately scrapped. When you get a team of home designers together, we, of course, began conceptualizing one big custom home instead. There were ideas for butterfly roofs, courtyards, and buttresses. Exacto knives, masking tape, and protractors were assembled.
Our gingerbread family was happy with the open concept, vaulted height, and glass (saran wrap) ceiling, though the frosting-bond-time to gingerbread-weight ratio didn’t quite allow for the kind of design freedom (or, let’s be honest, the structural integrity) we would have liked. Still, we had fun designing gingerbread firewalls and peppermint chimney pots — and appreciating the hard work engineers and contractors do every day!
